Mr. Wesley B. Glover, 88, husband of Beatrice Glover slipped into eternal rest on April 19, 2013 at Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC.Visitation will be 7-8 pm Thursday April 25, 2013 at St. Stephen AME Church 710 Main St. HardeevilleSC.Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday April 26, 2013 at St. Stephen AME Church.Interment Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St. Beaufort SC.Mr. Wesley Benjamin Glover, Jr., was born September 15, 1924, to Wesley B. Glover. Sr. and Girtie Louise Long Glover in the smallcommunity known as Saucey, South Carolina. In Saucey. located in Jasper County along the Savannah River, his parents raisedseven children of which Mr. Wesley B. Glover wa the third oldestchild and the older of the two male children. Both parents preceded him in death along with siblings Leola (James) Washington, Remanda (Nixon) Williams, and his only brotherGardner (Ida) Glover. Remaing are two devoted sisters, Ethel MaeLinen and Girtie Louise (James) Jackson.Mr. Glover accepted Jesus Christ as a very early age, uniting withthe home church of his mother, St Stephens A.M.E. Church of Hardeeville, South Carolina.After completing the highest grade offered in the school for blacksin Hardeeville, Mr. Glover pursued the opportunity to attend andcomplete his secondary education at Penn Normal Industrial andAgriculrural School in St. Helena Island, Souther Carolina. At Penn, he met his wife of 66 years, Beatrice Smalls Glover, who remaineddedicated to him up unitl the time God called hime home.Mr. Glover was World War II Army veteran serving with the 94thEngineers in the United States Army. After being discharged in 1945, he beceame the fisrt person in the Glover famliy to graduatefrom college earning a B.S. degree in Math and Science from Savannah State College in 1952.A Hardeeville resident, Mr. Glover was a lontime educator and heldnumerous positions in the high schools and at his church. His highschool positions included assistanct principal, teacher, basketballcoach, bus coordinator, and driver education instructor. His church positions included Sunday school superintendent and teacher. Mr. Glover started his teaching caree at Walker High School in Ludowici, Georgia, and finally retiring from Matthew E.West High School in Hardeeville, South carolina, after over 30years in education. His commitment and dedication to assisting others in achieving their maximum potential resulted in numerousteacher of the year awards and accolades. After retiring fom education, Mr. Glover had his memoris published in a book entitled"Lest You Forget - A Book for All Ages." Mr. Glover was blessed tohave positively touched and influenced the lives of so many people. Mr. Wesley B.Glover Jr. leaves to cherish his memories: a lovingwife, Beatrice Glover: four loving and devoted children, Donald(Yvonne) Glover of Springfield, Virginia, Daniel (Geneva) Gloverof Ellenwood, Georgia, Benjamin (Rachel) Glover of Stone Mountain,Georgia, and Gwendolyn Patrice Glover of High Point, NorthCarolina. Two of his children Gloria Jean, who died at birth, andStephen (Thelma) Glover of Montgomery, Alabama, preceded himin death. he also leaves fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchilden, two sisters, five brother-in-laws: six sister-in-laws, loving nieces and nephews, a host of relatives, devoted friends and many students including Edward Ross who visitd Mr.Glover daily during the latrer satges of his illness.
