Stanley BurnsDeacon Stanley Burns, 55, slipped into eternal rest on Friday,February 3, 2012 at Hilton Head Hospital, Hilton Head Is SC.Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced at a later date by Stiney's Funeral Home.Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday Feburary 11,2012 at New Church of Christ, Burton SC. with burial at WriefenCemetery, Bluffton SC.Deacon Stanley Kirk Burns, son of the late Deacon Abrahamand Susie Burns was born on June 5, 1956, in Burton SC.During the early morning hours of February 3, 2012 , at HiltonHead Hospital, the Master called his name which was very clear.Stanley answered the call and left it all.Deacon Burns received his early education thought the BeaufortCounty Public School System, where he became a superiorathlete in track. This was one of the many places he learned thediscipline needed in order to excel in life. While attending BatteryCreek High School, he trained diligently in track which became atrue love of his, so much so until he set several records in hisevents. Upon graduating from Battery Creek in 1974, he attended Denmark Technical College, where he became a certified mason. Later he went back to school and becamecertified in HAVC and Engineering.On June 27, 1981, he and Sister Olanda Edwards Burns wereunited in marriage. Together they shared an unmeasurable lovethat was blessed with three sons.Deacon Burns accomplishments were as great as his heart. In1976 he began working at the Hyatt Regency which later becameHilton Head Marriott Resort for 36 years. While there he washonored as employee of the month, employee of the year, Backof the House Associate, and Team Winner of the month numerous times.During the summer of 1977, Deacon Burns accepted Christ ashis personal Savior. He Joined at an early age, the New Churchof Christ, where he served faithfully. Later years, he was ordained as a Deason at Long Reach New Church of Christ. Deacon Burns was a man truly loved and respected by those that met him. As a father he was dependable, a teacher and dedicated to teaching them the right path. As a brother, uncle, and friend, he could be guaranteed to speak the truth about religion and life.Most looked up to him and confided their deepest thoughts. At work, he was known to solve any problem. He believed in liviing each day like it was his last and keeping the world smiling. In addition to his parents, Deacon Burns was preceded in death by his brothers: Harold and Abraham Jr., Sister, Judy: a grandnieceand nephew, his father nad mother-in-law, Elder and Mrs. Henry EEdwards.The memories he left will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted family, his wife, Olinda: three sons: Stanley, Jonathan, and Christopher; one granddaughter, Kaylee: his sisters, brothers,and their spouses: Florence and Ezekial Robinson, Rosa Lee Burns,Evangelist Alvenia and Minister Andre' Spencer, Deacon Cleveland and Brenda Burns, Ronald Burns and special companion, Martha Griffin. Additional he is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Ms. Mary Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. John Edwards, Mr and Mrs. Herbert Young, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Ferguson, Deacon and Mrs. Cornelius Edwards, Deacon Henry Edwards, Mr. Raymond Edwards, Elder Charlie Houston and Joann: one sister-in-law, Eva Edwards;a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his church family.
