 Profile of Life"Passing away like stars in the morning losing their glorioussun, Thus when we pass from this earth and its toiling,we are only remembered by what we have done"For every journey ther is a beginning and a destination.Saundra Jean Washington began her journey on January 27, 1949and reached her destination quietly on October 28,2011, surrounded by loving family and friends.Saundra was born in Hardeeville, SC to Sam Smith and Geraldine Simmons. She attended Hardeville Elementary school.She moved to Savannah, Ga. at an early age. She attendedTompkins High School and in her senior she attended BeachHigh School.She was married to the late Willie James Johnson and they wereblessed with two children. Later she was joined in holy matrimony to the late Clarence Louis Washington and theirunion was blessed with five children.She was predeceased by her husbands, Willie James, ClarenceLouis, mother, Geraldine Ferrell and two brothers, Daniel andJoseph Smith.Sandra (as we knew her) was affectionate, loving and extremelyshy. She was a great cook although she could not top her husband Louis in the kitchen. She was not a woman to many words; however she talked when it was necessary or when shehad to respond. There's no doubt that she loved her childrenand grandchildren unconditionally, she would go above andbeyond the call of a mother's duty to provide for her family. They were her liveline. She was a former member of theHardeeville Pentecostal Miracle Deliverance Center under theleadership of Overseer Dr. Idell Cheever and Pastor Louise Mack. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul and beganto fellowship again at the Hardeeville PMDC under the leadershipof Evangelist Paul K. Burney until her health failed. She workedpart time at verious motels in Hardeeville, SC in the housekeeping dept. She was employed in 1992 as a bus driver with the Jasper County School District and resigned due to anillness.Her full time employment was enjoying her grandchildren. Shedid not like glitter, glamour, or the limelight, she wanted to livea quiet life with family and friends and it should suffice to sayshe lived her life her way.I am sure she's making a loud and joyful noise as she walk around heaven all day, free from sickness,pain and heartaches.Sandra will be missed more than words can say.Saundra leaves to cherish her precious memories: Her fatherSam Smith, Savannah GA,; Children: Jacquelyn Johnson, WillieJames Johnson Jr., Gabriel Ramon Washington (Tonita), AdriasnAntonio Washington, Kathryn Cassandra Washington, LouisLlewellyn Washington (Shauna) and Simone Washington all ofHardeeville SC.; Aunts: Elder Kerelene Moore and Ivory MaeSimmons; one Brother, Rev. Randy Ferrell (Bonnie) Orlando, Fl;nine sisters, Doretha Capers (Louis) Pooler Ga., Debra Johnson(Floyd) Savannah, Ga., Jeanetta Wingster, Bernette Chaplin both of Savannah, Ga., Viola Pinckney (Abraham), Bettie L. Ferrell both of Hardeeville SC., Brenda Gail Harden (Vinnie),Patricia Andrews both of Atlanta, Ga., Dorothy Ferrell, Savannah, Ga.; Thirty one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; Countless nieces, nephews, brother-in-law,sister-in-law, cousins and friends; A special son Tyrone Pinckneyand a special daughter Gabrielle Arkeema (Boo) Washington; her meals on wheels buddy... Lyndell.
