Life ReflectionsSarah Givens Tripp was born November 14, 1913 in Prichardville,SC to the late Tom Givens and Anna Grant Givens.Her only 2 siblings preceded her in death, brothers, Jake Givensand Ed Givens Sr. Sarah received her formal education throughthe Beaufort County,SC Public School System.She was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life and soulmate, the late Deacon William Tripp. Deacon Tripp was a devotedand loving husband until he parted this earthly life to be with hisLord and Savior Jesus Christ. Earlier in life, Sarah became a member of St. Matthew BaptistChurch and was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev.J J.Jenkins. She would often mention that on the day of her baptismthere were 12 woman and 1 man who was baptized. Again later in her life, she renewed her vows with God and received Christ as her personal Savior and experienced a beautiful and fulfilling walkin Christ.Sarah was a retired Caretaker and Housekeeper for various families, one of which was the W.W. Niver Family. She was alsoa business woman, a homemaker, and entrrpreneur. She really and Truly was a advocate of education for her family members.She's a Gullah African Queen and matriarch of the family.Sarah always enjoyed the presence of being with her family andfriends. She was one of loyal service to her family and friends. She brought joy to the lives of all around with her profound sense of humor, pearls of wisdom and her legendary cuisines. She wasfamous for her okra and tomato soup, collard greens, fried chickencandid yams and cornbread.Her memories will continue to be cherished by her two sons;Prince Grant, Sr. (Geneva) and Leroy Bryant (Thelma), both ofSt. Augustine FL. She also leaves to celebrate her life and fondest memories, the grandchildren she mothered and raised:Laurretta Cannick (George), Glenda Brown and Iris Tennison, bothof Bluffton, SC Prince Grant jr. of Tampa FL, Patrice Fields, DerrickFields and Jakie Fields of Hilton Head SC, 24 grandchildren, 56great-grandchildren, and 74 great-great-grandchildren, 4 Godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and treasuredfriends.
