Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday November 14, 2012 atGreater Pentecostal Temple, 5905 South Okatie Highway,Hardeeville SC. Interment: Shad Cemetery Bellinger Hill SC.Mrs, Rachel Saxon, 57 of Hardeeville, SC was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at her resident with herfamliy by her side, Rachel was also preceded in death by a brotherTheodore Campbell of Savannah, GA. She was born on March 91955, in Savannah, Georgia to the parents of Edward J. and Annie(Waiters) Gadson and the late Bejamin Foster. At an ealry age,she moved to Bellinger Hill, SC to live with her uncle and aunt theHerman and Alberta Williams.At an early age she joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Levy, SCunder the leadership of Rev James Jenkins. She received her early education from the public schools in Hardeeville, SC, where she participated in several activities during her high school years,Rachel also attented the Upward Bound Program at SavannahState College. Rachel then matriculated to Savannah State Collegenow Savannah State University. She became a member of TheDelta Sigma Theta Sorority, cheer leader and other organizations.After graduating in 1976 with a Bachelors of Business Administration degreee in Accounting, she started her career at Beaufort Jasper Ridgeland Comprehensive Health Services, Inc.,where she was employed for thirty-six years.Late in 1976 Rachel married the late Charles Saxon, the Lord blessed their marriage with two beautiful children: Shana and Jarrad Saxon. In 1988, she joined the Greater PentecostalTemple Church, (PAW) under the leadership of Dr. Delores Young, Pastor where she served in several axillaries to included the AdultUsher Board, and the Christian Women's Ministry of G.P.T She served as Vice President for three years. Rachel leaves to cherish her memory two children: daughter,Shana Saxon of Pooler, GA and son, Jarrod Saxon, Phoenix, AZ;her stepchildred: Jamies Chisholm. Latasha Manor, Jarvon Lee andJuliette Primus: grandchldren: Nyjae Bently, Duane Bentley, TaylorSaxon, Jordan Saxon, Khalia Osborne, Tacarra Lee, Kiera Lee,Nigeria Jones and Aston Maynor; her parents, Missionary AnnieMae Hart and Edward J. Gadson; her two brothers: Eugene Scottand Benjamin Foster, Jr. of Savannah, GA; her sisters: Margaret Ann (Ronald) Edison, Delosis (Roy) Higgins of Hartford, CT, MinisterBarbara Ann (Williams) Lipscomb, Rosalyn (Ellis) Kellem, Trell (Paul)Brezell of Savannah, GA, Kathlee (Orvett) Shelby of Charleston, SCLynda Foster of New London, CT and Edna Mac (John) Owens of Ellenwood, GA: Uncle Lawrence (Audey) Waiters of Oakland, CA;sister-in-law, Pearl M. Campbell of Savannah, GA; special niece, Joann (Jimmydean) Ford; devoted cousins: Johnnie Mae Polite,Delores Ford and Alice (Eugene) Hicks; a host of nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.
