Oscar Gant Sr.Oscar Gant Sr.,72, slipped into eternal rest at his residence on April 2, 2012. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced at a later date by Stiney's Funeral Home.Visitation will be from 7-8 pm on Friday April 6, 2012 at Stiney'sChapel, 70 Stiney Road, Hardeeville SC. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday April 7, 2012 at Stiney's Chapel Hardeeville SC. Interment: Cook Landing CemeteryHardeeville, SC.Oscar Gant was born on the 15th day of October 1939 in Pineville,SC to the late Mr. & Mrs. Adolp Gant (Carrie).On April 2, 2012 God called Oscar home from his residents 320 West 54th Street in Savannah, GA to join his parents and siblingswho awaited him Lawrence, Ruth and Rozelle.Oscar began his education in Pineville, SC. At the age of 10 hismother moved to Jersey city where he continued his education.Oscar met Rosa Bentley in Jersey City where they were married in 1963 and they had seven children.Oscar and Rosa moved from Jersey City, NJ in 1970 to HardeevilleSC, where Oscar began to work for GAF.  He devoted 20 years of service to GAF.  He retired from Delta Metal in 2005 as a sheet metal worker.Oscar and Rosa after so many years of marriage parted peacefullyand went their separate ways.Oscar move to Savannah there he met Mary Shields and begansharing a life with her until his home going.  Together they raisedone God-daughter (Jasmine), two Grandchildren (Dysheka & Frank)Mr. Oscar Gant decease brothers and sisters are: Mr. Minus Gant, Louise Gant, Perry Gant, Lawrence Gant, Daisy Mazyck, Loura White, Ruth Wilson Rozell Johnson. His memories will forever becherished by his loving family and friends,  Seven sons: Valantine Gant Sr. (Deborah), Oscar Gant Jr (Barbara), Joe Jackson (Kimberly) all of Savannah, GA; Alton Gant of Columbia SC, Jerome Gant of Hardeeville, SC, Kenneth Wise of Atlanta, GA and KareemShields of New York City. f ive daughter: Gloria Bentley of Savannah, GA, Rosetta Ford (Deangelo) of Hardeeville, SC, LakyshaShields of Swainsboro, GA, Latriail Maxwell ( Jessie) of Atlanta, GA.Goddaughter Jasime Johnson: one sister, two brother LillieMae Rankine and Tommy Gant of Jersey City, NJ. Clarence Gant ; motjher-in-law, Ms. Dealva Sheilds, 30 Grands, 26 Great-Grands, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
