Maggie DraytonMrs. Maggie Drayton,85, slipped into eternal rest on June 1, 2022at Hospice of Savannah, Savannah GA.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced at later dateby Stiney's Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday June8, 2012 from 7-8pm at Stiney's Chapel, 70 Stiney Rd. HardeevilleSC. Funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday June 9, 2012 at First African Baptist Missionary Church, 4526 South Okatie Hwy.,Hardeeville SC. Interment: Mt. Olive Memorial Cemetery 481Purrysburg Road Hardeeville SC.Maggie, "Mag" as he was fondly called, was born March 2, 1927, to the late Agnes Frazier and William Brownlee.  She was adopted by the late Silias and Julia Blachshear.  She graduated from the WestBroad Street School in Savannah, Ga.  She was a faithfully memberof the First African Baptist Church until her health failed, and served on the Senior Usher Board.Maggie loved to go to the mall in Savannah every Saturday andenjoyed shopping, attending her Weight Watchers Meetings and having lunch at Morrison.  Maggie was a great lover of flowers and would stop by the side of the road to pick them.She lived in New York for many years and was employed at the Apollo Theater.In 1957, she was joined in holy matrimony to Elijah Drayton inNewark, NJ. They relocated to Hardeeville, SC in 1960.Maggie was a solider of the cross.  Not even her illness of manyyears could shake her faith in GOd.  After many years of toiling inher earthly body and home, God in His grace and mercy whisperedchild, come on home.  On June 1, 202, angels from heaven arrivedin her room at the Hospice House of Savannah to escost her intothe presence of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husbandof 55 years, Mr. Elijah Drayton of Hardeeville, SC; one daughter,Teresa Denise Drayton of Sheldon, SC; a faithful adopted grandson, Ralph Lorenzo Dunham, Jr.-Drayton, granddaughter, Dezsiree Denise Dunham; grandson, Elijah Raysean Dunham, all ofHardeeville, SC; one brother, Herman (Karen) Blackshear, Sr. ofStatesboro, GA; two  brothers-in-law: Nathaniel Drayton and Clarence (Charlesetta) Drayton of Brooklyn, NY: one sister-in-law, Verna Drayton of Garden City, GA; a host os nieces, nephews,cousins and sorrowing friends.
