Mrs. Katie Bruin, 60, slipped into eternal rest on March 9,2013at Colleton Medical Center, Walterboro SC.  Visitation will be 7-8 pm Friday March 15, 2013 at First Zion Missionary BaptistChurch, 10 Robertson St., Bluffton SC.  Funeral service will be11:00 am Saturday March 16, 2013 at First Zion MissionaryBaptist Church.  Interment: Jackville Cemetery Bluffton SC.Katie Mae Wise was born on August, 26, 1952 in Charleston. SouthCarolina to the parents of James Myers, Sr. and the late Ruth Polite. She is a graduate of M.C. Riley High School, Class of 1970.Katie's life has not been in vain and she will be remembered as a gentle, humble spirit who often gave more love than she was given.  She was affectionately called "Puddin, Grammy, and Nanny"by her loving husband,children, and grandchildren.  She enjoyed moments with her famliy especially hanging out and going on longrides with her sister (Mary Ann Polite) aka (Fat Pig). For her immediate family she loved to cook large family meals specializing in her world famous "Red Rice", which was often immitated but neverduplicted.  To her family she was "THE ROCK" and hse also gave everything she had even it it meant sacrificing for herself.  To others, she ws an inspiration, confidant, second mother and a PHENOMINAL WOMAN!Katie was a loving wife, moher,grandmother, sister, aunt and friendwho impacted the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.She was employed for 22 years as a seamstress of Mary Matt Inc.,and faithfully was the Bluffton Postal Service for 12 years.Katie met her loving husband 26 years ago and the married on December 12, 2000, when he became stepfather to her five children, three daughters and two sons.On March 9, 2013 God walked through his garden and chose a precious rose and upon answering to his call her soul took flight on the wings of a snow white dove, entering into eternal rest.  Shewas preceded in death by her Maternal mother Ruth Polite and hermother Corrine Singleton "Aunt Duspie".She leave to cherish her loving memories, her husband Robert H.Bruin; five children: Saundra M. Wise (Jerome Williams of Savannah, GA), Angela L. Wise (Elmore Ragland of Summerville, SC), Jamm Wise (Nikki Wise), Michael Wise (Heather Wise) and Kimberly Wise-Brown (Ulysses Brown), all of Bluffton,SC; ten grandchildren: Briana Anderson, Alexis Wise, Jammari Wise, MichaelWise Jr., Alyssa Wise, Jasmyn Wise, Aliyah Wise-Brown, AlaishaWise-Brown, Jordan Wise and Jaden Wise. Four sisters: Mary AnnPolite and Michelle Polite, both of Bluffton, SC. Shirley Meyers(Keith Anson) and Doketha Charley Johnson, all of Bronx,NY. Fivebrothers: Arthur Polite (Rose Polite) of Savannah, Ga, Thomas Polite and Daniel Polite both of Bluffton, SC. Scott Myers (KissyMyers) of Allen PA, James Myers (Jennifer Myers) of New York, NYmother-in-law, Annette Burin of Bluffton,SC; Uncle William "Billy"Polite of Bluffton,SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
