Julia Doe, 85, slipped into eternal rest on Saturday Feburary 16, 2013 at Hampton Regional Medical Center, Hampton SC.Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced at a later date.Julia Smith Doe was born on April 8, 1927, in Hardeeville,SC to the late Minnie L. Robinson and the late John Smith. Known as "Lil" Julia (a namesake of her late aunt Julia Frazier) attended school in Hardeeville, where she complted the 8th grade. Early in life Julia surrended her life to Jesus Christ and joined Fisher Chapel Church under the late Reverend Edwards.She later met and married the late Willie Doe and moved to Allendale, South Carolina. There were no children to this union. Because jobs were scarce in the area, "Lil" Julia and Willie moved to Philadelphia, PA to seek employment. She was hired at Pennsylvania Hospital as an emergency room assistant.In 1989, Julia retired from the hospital and moved to Seffner, Flordia. The strong desire to connect and fellowship with the people of God, Julia joined Emmanuel Cathedral Church of God In Christ under the spiritual guidance of Pastor J. II Smalley Sr. She was a member of the Senior Choir and served faithfully on the Hospitality Board. In 1996, she moved to Tampa, Flordia and attended The River at Tampa Bay Church of God In Christ.Her favorite saying was "God is Good".Julia loved children and was immediately hired to work at Pearl Sutton Day Care Center. There she met the "love" of her life Master Trey Anthony. He stole her heart from the day she held him and rocked him in her lap. In February 200, she moved to a new address and began working at Jo carol Children Center. In addition, she sought further training in childcare/developement. From 2000-2007, she earned cerification in Introductory Childcare Training;Developing Appropriate Practices for Infants; Behavioral Observation & Screening in Childcare; and Early Literacy for Children Age Birth to Three.Julia leaves to cherish her memory two brothers: Charles(Mildred) Smith, Starke,Fl and Harolds Robinson, Savannah, GA, four sisters: Vivian Ford, Freeport, NY, Willie Mae Calderon, Ruby Mae Brown, and Sarah Anderson, Hardeeville,SC; one sister-in-law, Mae Jackson, Newport News,VA; a special cousin, Almeta Webber, Hardeeville,SC;godson,Trey Anthony Davenport,Lauderdale,FL; special friends: Tanguila Carlo, Ft. Lauderdale,FL, Georgette Smith,Tampa,FL, friends and neighbors of River Pines Apartments, Tampa, FL: all her "special" nieces and nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.Visitation on February, 22, 2013, from 7-8pm @ Word of God Christian Center, 2332 Church Rd.
