Jack SmithMr. Jack Smith,90, husband of Beatrice Smith, slipped into eternalrest on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at NHC HealthCare, Bluffton, SC.Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time, but will be announced at a later date by Stiney's Funeral Home.Visitation will be 7-8 pm., Friday at First African Baptist Church,4526 South Okatie Hwy, Hardeeville, SC. Funeral service will beat 11:00 am., Saturday April 21, 2012 from Greater Pentecostal Temple, 5905 South Okatie Hwy., Hardeeville SC. Viewing from10:00 am  until the hour of service. No viewing after Eulogy.Interment Cypress Creek Cemetery, Pineland SC.Sgt. Jack Smith was born on September 26, 1921, in Fairfax, S.C.to the late Annie and Johnny Smith.  He was very ill for an extended period of time.  He departed this life on April 14, 2012, atNHC Medical facility.Sgt. Jack Smith was married to Mother Beatrice Wright Smith for64 years.  He was affectionately known as "Tigerman."  He was a man of Christian virtues, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a dear friend anyone could meet.He served his country in the United States Army during World WarII from 1941-1945.  He received many medals, awards and honors.Sgt. Smith was employed by Derst Baking Company of Savannah,Ga for 17 years.  He was a faithful member of First African BaptistChurch, Hardeeville, S.C., since 1982.Sgt. Jack Smith is survived by: his devoted wife, Mother BeatriceSmith; two daughters: Bea Theresa Smith of Hardeeville, S.C.and A. Kathryn (Hubert) Hicks of Savannah, Ga.; four sons: JackW. Smith of Albuquerque, N.M., Dr. Sidney J. (Deborah) Smith ofTemperance, Mich., Dr. Timothy W. Smith of Fairfiled. Ohio and Michael B. Smith of Arlington., Va.; one brother-in-law, Bratton T.Wright of Savannah, Ga.; one brother, Arthur (Etta Mae) Chisolm,of New York, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Carrie Chisolm of Chiefland,Fla. and Elouise Swafford, Chattanooga, Tenn.  There are also eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces,nephews and friends.
