Mrs. Gladys Hopkins,84, slipped into eternal rest on April 16, 2013at Coastal Carolina Medical Center, Hardeeville SC. Visitation willbe 7-8 pm on Friday April 19, 2013 at St. Stephen AME Church710 Main St. Hardeeville SC. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday April 20, 2013 at St. Stephen AME Church in Hardeeville SC.  Interment: State Cemetery, Hwy 46, HardeevilleSC.Mrs. Gladys Murray Hopkis, daughter of the late Ella and JuliusJenkins, was born June 5, 1928, in Beaufort County, SC. She attended the public schools.At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined St. Stephen A.M.E. Church. She has been retired for manyyears. She united in Holy Matrimony to the late Melvin S. Hopkins,Sr., who preceded her in death and from this union God blessed them with five children.  Her son, Kenneth ("Big Kenny") whopreceded her in death.on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, she went home to be with Lord. Shewill be sadly missed by her loving children. Devoria A. (Larry) Popeof Milwaukee, WI, Melvin J. Hopkins, Jr., Betty J. Bush of Hardeeville, SC, and Linda A. Hopkins of Atlanta, GA. Eight grand-children: Yolanda Hopkins Aiken, Jamison B. Willaims, Elizabeth AnnMurray, and Marsha Brown,all of Hardeeville, SC. Selena C. Pope ofBelcamp, MD, Tiffany D (Daryld) Scott of Columbia, SC, Lawrence(Rocky) Pope of Milwaukee, WI,and Tamika Knight of Rincon, GA.Sisteen great grandchildren, Ra'keesha Hopkins, Whitney Chisholm,Tyrone Aiken, Jr., Anthony Bowers, Alyssa Bowers, Ta'keia MarshallMalik Pinckney, Rayfany Scott, Ta'Breia Knight, AuBree Mitchell, Jr.Ta'keena Brown, Ja"keem Brown, Michael Jenkins, Desmond Hill,Jr.,Taylor Campbell, Brendan Hill, and Lauryn Brown.  Brothers-in-laws:Williams (Ruth) Hopkins,Sr., Priestly Hopkins of Hardeeville, SC, OtisHopkins of Sacremento, CA,and a host of specail nieces, nephews,friends, and a great family.
