 1991 Obituary 2011Mr. DeAndre Nitique Fulton-Smith, the only son of Nicole MichelleSmith and Dwayne Edward Fulton was a renowned hair carespecialist. At the time of his passing, July 22, he was enrolled atSpartanburg Community College where he majored in BusinessAdminisrration.He was born August 27, 1991, in Beaufort SC. He resided in Ridgeland most of his life and was a active member of Carey HillBaptist Church where he was baptized and served as an usher.DeAndre graduated from Ridgeland High School with honors in 2009. His love of instrumental music led him to play the saxophone in the Ridgeland High School band; he soon demonstrated addition talent and led the band as its drum major.He was studious as well as an avid musician. Because of his leadership,service,conduct,and academic record, he was inductedinto the National Honor Society. While a student at the Academyfor Career Eecellence (ACE) and under the auspices of Mr. MarwinMcknight, he won first place in the Skills USA Competition for master hair care/barbering. The Savannah Morning News honoredhim with the Outstanding Student Award. He was a recipient of the Life scholarship which is the prestigious award given tograduating seniors who maintained a 3.0 or above average andranked in the upper 30 percent of their class.DeAndre earned many awards and certificates. He was a motivated and active student. His extracurricular membershipsincluded the yearbook staff and prom committee. When votingfor senior superlatives his pleasing personality inspired his classmates to remember him fondly as "Teacher's Pet".His maternal grandmother, Joyce Aiken Smith,an uncle, Christopher Smith, and godfather, Rev. Eugene Gregory precededhim in death.Mourning his death and cherishing the memories are him mother,Nicole Michelle Smith and his father, Dwayne Edward Fulton; hissisters: Ashley Smith(Asmarer) of Savannah, GA and LashayFulton; grandparents, Nathaniel H.
