Visitation : 7-8 pm Sunday April 1, 2012 at ProctorHill Baptist Church, 1 Palmetto Bluff Road, Bluffton, SC. Interment:Wriefen Cemetery.Chief Archie Lee Richardson, Sr., the son of the late Mrs. ZulphiaChisolm Cummings and Mr. Archie Blakewood, Dea Joseph and RenaChisolm Richardson, Sr. was born January 6, 1947, in BeaufortCountry, South Carolina.  He received his education from theJasper County Public Schools. He was a graduate of West Hardeeville High School. At an early age, he confessed Christ was baptized and became a member of Saint Matthew Baptist Church under the leadship of the Rev. WIlliams M. Sheftell.He married his high school sweetheart, Ms. Elizabeth Jenkins and to this union three sons were born.  His oldest son, Eric Richardson, preceded him in death.He enlisted in the United States Army were he fouught in the Vietnam War.  He worked for U.P.S. for many, many years.  He later joined the Hardeeville Police Department.  Upon moving toBluffton he joined the Bluffton Police Department where he served as Chief of Police until he retired. On Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Hilton Head Hospital on HiltonHead Island, SC. God being too wise to make a mistake called himfrom labor to reward.The memories he leave behind will be cherished by his wife, Mrs.Barbara Richardson of Bluffton, SC; five sons: Mr. Archie L. (Robin)Richardson, Mr. Michael R. (Jennifer) Richardson of Orlando, FL, Mr.Anthony C. Richardson of Bluffton, SC, Mr. Jamie Richard of NorthCarolina and Mr. Darryl Fields of Bluffton, SC;  three daughters:Mrs. Roselyn D. (Terrance) Davis of Hardeeville, SC Ms. MichelleRichardson and Sherryl Fields, both of Charlotte, NC;one sister, Arthur L. (James) Sharp of Atlanta, GA; two brothers: Mr. Marion Blakewood of New York and Mr. George White of Beaufort, SC; eighteen grandchildren; three brothers-in-law: Mr. Prince Grant, Mr. Leroy Grant of St. Augustine, FL and Mr. Salomon Grant of Bluffton, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing Friends.
