 1912 Profile of Life 2011Mr. Andrew Brown, son of the late Andrew Brown, Sr. and Elizabeth Brown was born one of eleven children, on November 12,1912, in Jasper County,SC. As a child, he attended the Weatherbee School of Hardeeville, SC. Andrew was preceded indeath  by his five brothers and five sisters.Andrew accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Purrysburg, SC, where  he loyally served on the Senior Choir. He faithfully attended church and worshiped for many years until his health prevented him from physically attending service. In addition to serving Christ, Andrew served as a brother of the Happy Home Masonic Lodge No. 125, Hardeeville,SC for many years.On January 17, 1942, Andrew was joined in holy matrimony to the late Leila Mae Reynolds Brown. Leila preceded Andrew in death in2006, after 64 years of devotion. The doors of the Brown's homewere always open to any and everyone. They truly adored theirloved ones and friends.Early in his life, Andrew made a living as a independent pub wooddriver. Years later, he was employed as a Longshoreman with theInternational Longshoreman Association (Local 1414) in Savannah,Ga, retiring after numerous years. As a hobby, Andrew was apassionate farmer, as well as an avid big game hunter with theBellinger Hill Hunting Club, Bellinger Hill, SC.God saw his struggle and pain, and He decided to call him fromlabor to a sweet rest on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at 10:31a.m. Andrew, surrounded by his loving family, was escorted byHeavenly Angels from his earthly home to his Heavenly home.Andrew leaves to cherish his legacy of love, one loyal son, Benjamin Reynolds of Hardeeville, SC; two loyal daughters, MaeOla Brown Dopson (Wesley) and Deloris Brown, both of HardeevilleSC; two honorary daughters, Mildred S. Johnson, Hardeeville, SCand Dorothy Ann Holt, Westbury, NY; one god-daughter, OridellDunham (Gary), Hardeeville, SC; sister-in-law, Janie Allen, Hardeeville,SC; twelve grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren,several great, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews,other relatives and sorrowing friends.
