Anderson,72, slipped into eternal rest on Thursday,April 5, 2012 at Life Care Center of Hilton Head, Hilton Head IslandSC.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced at a later date by Stiney's Funeral Home.Visitation will be held Monday April 9, 2012 from 7-8 pm  at St. Luke Baptist Church, 3048 Snake Road, Ridgeland, SC. Funeral service will be held on 12:00 Noon Tuesday April 10, 2012 from St. Luke Baptist Church, Ridgeland SC. Interment: Low BottomCemetery.Alton E. Anderson, son of the late Opelia Anderson and the late Sam Kelly was born on August 19, 1939, in Charleston, SC.  The family later moved to Jasper County.  He attended Ridgeland HighSchool.He confessed Christ in his life at an early age.  Alton worked forPearlstine as a warehouse worker and also was a truck driverbefore becoming ill. In addtion to his parents, Alston was preceded in death by his sister, Carrier Mae Anderson Mitchell.On Thursday, April 5, 2012, God released Alton from his earthlyhome to his eternal home, where he found eternal peace and rest.He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Alethia M. Anderson of 46 years: two daughters: Latorria Anderson of Rincon, Ga and Vern Fripp of Ridgeland, SC; two sisters, Loretta Simmons of Beaufort, SC and Ann Martin of Cleveland, OH; one brother, Sunny Smith of Ridgeland, SC: two sisters-in-law: Albertha M. Major (Edward) of Bluffton, SC and Louise Mitchell Wilson (James) of Boston, MA: three brothers-in-law: Lee Henry Mitchell(Albertha), Raymond MItchell and Arthur MItchell, all of Bluffton.SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
