Agnes Williams Obituary

"The LORD is my Sheperd; I shell not want."Psalm 23:1Agnes Green Williams, the daughter of the late William andHarriett James Green was born on May 30, 1919, in Levy, SouthCarolina. She spent all of her life in this area and was educated inthe Beaufort County School System now known as Jasper County.She was married to the late Mr. Joe S. Williams, Sr. and to thisunion three children were born. She was employed for many yearsby the Beauth Shop of Savannah, GA.Agnes accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior, was baptized in thechristian faith and joined the Macedonia Baptist Church under theleadership of the Rev. J.J. Jenkins. Later, she moved her membership to First African Baptist Church under the Pastorshipof Reverend Grant. She served faithfully as a member of the Senior Usher Board, and after stepping down, she attended theworship service until her health declined.On October 22, 2011, God saw the road was getting tough and gently closed her eyes into eternal rest on this side.Her favorite song, "Whose Side You're Leaning On." served as hertestimony. She enjoyed Christian fellowship and did not mind traveling from church to church to enjoy the service.She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Mr. Joe S. (Jacqueline)Williams,Jr. of St. John,Fl; a daughter, Ms. Odessa Williams,son,Mr. Isaac Williams, both of Hardeeville SC, and Mr. Eric Williams(Kizzy) of LeGrange, GA; two sisters: Mrs. Lilia Kinlaw and Mrs.Carrie Bell Young, both of Hardeeville SC; one sister-in-law, Ms.Clara Green of Savannah,GA; (seven brothers and four sisterspreceded her in death), three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces.nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
